My name is Stephanie Dobroski

I am passionate about helping women in mid life. There are many stressors in mid life: jobs, aging parents, children, friends, spouses, health, to name a few. Experiencing stressors and being short on time can lead to “short cuts to self care”. These shortcuts may include: drinking, smoking, food and scrolling on social media.

Women may end up feeling stuck, “I need this to function” and in a place of reactivity. I have specialized in treating anxiety in my therapy practice. Indicators that a person is struggling with anxiety can include: difficulty with sleep, apprehension about the future or regrets about the past and obsessive negative thoughts. In addition, I have treated unresolved issues with grief and loss. Sometimes people don’t know they are dealing with unresolved issues. Therapy can be helpful in clarifying the direction for treatment.

I am also offering coaching for women in midlife who are experiencing symptoms of ADHD. Several women have come to me requesting this service. Coaching focuses on solution based strategies. I also assess executive function. I do not provide diagnostic testing or diagnostic services.

I have worked in mental health for 35+ years. I find this field interesting, absorbing and inspiring. It is exciting to engage with a person who is ready to make changes, ready to learn and open to viewing their life, patterns and interactions from a different lens.

Coaching for ADHD: Creating a plan that works for you

Women’s health is complicated. Some women experience memory loss, difficulty with focus and fatigue. Some women have experienced these symptoms following COVID. These symptoms take a toll causing more struggle in life, difficulty functioning on a daily basis and experiencing living through “survivor” mode. 

Change is possible. What is needed is attention to your unique situation and struggle. Although many persons can experience the same symptoms, the incremental changes that are needed are specific to you.
